The Postgraduate Program in Information Science (PPGCI) of the Department of Information Science (DCI), affiliated with the Centre for Arts and Communication (CAC) at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), was established in 2008 and approved by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) in 2009. It offers both master's and doctoral degrees in Information Science.
